Don’t Worry Darling, starring Florence Pugh<\/a> and Harry Styles<\/a>, is set to come to Netflix<\/a> after being haunted by reported backstage drama throughout its press run. <\/p>\n

The 2022 Olivia Wilde<\/a>-directed psychological thriller, which follows a 1950s housewife (Pugh) who starts to become unnerved by her picture-perfect husband and closed community, when it seems that not everything is as it seems.<\/p>\n

The film was met with mixed reviews and much of the attention from the film was caught up in the backstage drama on the set<\/a> that was well reported at the time.<\/p>\n

Among the various rumours was a feud between the director and the leading character in the film.<\/p>\n

It was reported that Wilde would frequently be absent from set, which frustrated Pugh and it was reported that the tensions culminated in a screaming match on set, as reported by Vulture.<\/p>\n

Wilde praised Pugh publicly and blamed the tabloids for the reports of a fallout.<\/p>\n

Pugh did not address the fallout claims and a report said that she would be \u2018limiting press\u2019 <\/a>\u2013 although it was said this was down to the actress\u2019s filming commitments on Dune 2, which she was filming in Budapest at the time of Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don\u2019t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances. I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them. That was my job,\u2019 she told Variety.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/nichesitetool.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GettyImages-2153389629-fd27.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22790447\" alt=\"Shia Labeouf\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Shia LaBeouf was originally cast in the film (Picture: Laurent Koffel\/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2022\/08\/26\/shia-labeouf-denies-olivia-wildes-claims-she-fired-him-from-film-17251477\/\">LaBeouf denied the claims,<\/a> claiming that he was the one to decide to walk away from the project and even was able to show proof of texts as evidence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/shia-labeouf-denies-fired-olivia-wilde-dont-worry-darling-1235350529\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Variety<\/a> reported that the actor reached out in the days after their interview with Wilde was published, and forwarded them an email he had sent to the director where he said he was \u2018confused by the narrative that I was fired.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The next drama took place in April 2022 when Wilde was served divorce papers from her husband Jason Sudekis while on stage.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/nichesitetool.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GettyImages-1199127447-71f8.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22790452\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>The couple was married for several years (Picture: Taylor Hill\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While at a presentation at CinemaCon, Wilde was handed an envelope which was <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2022\/04\/28\/olivia-wilde-served-custody-papers-by-jason-sudeikis-on-stage-at-cinemacon-16548586\/\">reported to contain legal documents from Sudeikis.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wilde later told Variety: \u2018It was my workplace.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn\u2019t have been able to happen. They cut us from most of the movie, but we thriving in real life. \ud83d\ude42\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2018Love you Ari \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f #GotMyCheck #GotMyMan #EverythingHappensforaReason.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Along with all of this drama, there was also a (false) claim that Chris Pine spat on Styles during a Venice Film Festival panel.
