TVA child star from Outnumbered has married his partner of seven years.
Tyger Drew-Honey, 29, who is also known for starring in Cuckoo alongside Greg Davies, is said to have tied the knot with Fluke Chotphuang.
In 2007, the actor was introduced to viewers as Jake Brockman in the BBC sitcom, which starred Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner as his parents, Pete and Sue, while Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez played his siblings Ben and Karen.
Tyger appeared on the show for seven years, later reprising the role for a special in 2016 and another last year.
On Instagram, it appears as though Fluke has already adopted the Drew-Honey surname as the pair sealed their union.
Tyger took to his social media page to share a number of beautiful photos from their special day.
Tyger can be seen in a light blue suit alongside Fluke as they enjoy the ceremony.
It is not yet clear whether his Outnumbered co-stars also attended the wedding.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Tyger was returning to our screens in a brand-new role.
The actor has appeared on The Armstrong & Miller Show, Doctors, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, and even Celebs Go Dating.
However, four years after appearing on Grantchester, Tyger took on the role of journalist Ernest Parke in the Sky drama-documentary series, Jack the Ripper: Written in Blood.
The ‘bold new series’ investigates the killings of Jack the Ripper and the media circus it created in 1800s London.
According to the synopsis of the show, Parke led much of the press around the Ripper killings and ‘theorised in the 31st August 1888 edition that Jack the Ripper was a single killer’.
Last year, Tyger spoke candidly about his struggle to secure acting work after being a child star.
‘I have done some good things, but then there have been times that I’ve worked on building sites,’ he told The Sun.
‘I just dream of having constant acting work, and I really hope the hype and the momentum of this special continues so that we can all have a really successful next year, because the last three or four years have been tough for this industry.
‘For this to come back and give us good hope for next year, I think is brilliant, and that’s what I’m hoping for anyway,’ he added when promoting the latest Outnumbered special.
Around the same time, he also spoke about the impact of finding fame young.
‘I found it difficult at times – and I wasn’t a crazy teenager – but wanting to have a drink at 17,’ he shared during an appearance on This Morning.
Elsewhere in the world of Outnumbered, it was revealed that Hugh and Claire – who play the couple in the TV show – married three years ago without anyone knowing.
Got together when filming ended of the 2017 series, which was confirmed the following June.
And after eight years together, MailOnline confirmed Hugh and Claire tied the knot in the summer of 2022 in the parish of Westminster, not once speaking publicly about their nuptials.
Following last year’s Christmas special of Outnumbered, Ramona – who played Karen – revealed her new venture as a tattoo artist.
On TikTok, she shared that she had completed her first week as a professional tattooist at El Museo Studio in South London.
This came after Daniel Roche, who played Ben, said he was getting back into acting after playing rugby for the Wasps academy.
He said: ‘I just want to get back into the swing of it, really. I’m not saying I want to be standing on stage with an Oscar for best actor. Ultimately, you want to spend your life doing what you enjoy, and I’ve always enjoyed acting.’

TVMichael Sheen has shed light on whether or not fans will be able to watch the eagerly anticipated finale of a controversial Amazon Prime series.
The Welsh actor has featured in Good Omens since it originally premiered on the streaming platform back in 2019.
Playing alongside the demon Crowley, acted by David Tennant, Sheen has captured the hearts of viewers as the angel Aziraphale.
Following two seasons, a feature-length finale was shot for the last season.
But after allegations of sexual misconduct were made by eight women against Neil Gaman – who wrote the book that the series is based upon – the conclusion of the Amazon Prime show seems to be on ice.
Speaking to The Times, Sheen was asked about the future of Good Omens. He said: ‘ I really don’t know what’s going to happen with it.
‘We were both relieved we finished the story, but that’s within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.’
Responding to his comments, @mosie_v said on X: ‘Oh dear, that doesn’t sound very positive.’
@jame_2206 added: ‘Oh no, that doesn’t sound confident…’
Taking to Reddit, cjm-timelord11 said: ‘I’ve seen a few interviews where they’ve said it’s “out of their hands”. Would Amazon really shelf it after it’s shot and edited? It’s good at least to see him actually acknowledge the accusations now though.’
ACatFromCanada added: ‘This is so upsetting. Why would Amazon pull the plug again at this stage?!’
@thavron.bsky.social echoed this by writing: ‘I mean I can’t see prime spending all that money making it if they weren’t going to release it. They might sit on it until things move on a bit but eesh. This doesn’t make me feel good…’
The claims against Gaiman, which include accusations that he sexually assaulted a woman in a bath, were published in New York Magazine, with five women’s claims having first been reported on a Tortoise Media podcast called Master last year.
One of the women who has spoken out against the Good Omens author is Scarlett Pavlovich, who was working as the nanny for his five-year-old son at the time.
Pavlovich was included in the initial complaints published by Tortoise Media, but has now told New York Magazine how he assaulted her while his son was in the hotel room.
She claims that Gaiman raped her under the covers after she tried to signal to him she did not wish to have sex and asked: ‘What the f**k are you doing.’
During the alleged assault on February 19, 2022, Pavlovich claimed he continued to speak to his son, who was playing on an iPad and facing the bed.
She says she was in a ‘state of shock’ and froze as Gaiman urinated on his hand and told her to ‘lick it off’. He then allegedly insisted she give him oral sex while the bathroom door was still open.
The author has denied the allegations, stating that all relationships were consensual, and has since told New York Magazine this hotel incident was ‘false’ and ‘deplorable’.
Good Omens is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

TVJoJo Siwa has reflected on her sexuality as her relationship with Chris Hughes reaches new levels.
The 22-year-old TikTok superstar met the 32-year-old Love Islander on Celebrity Big Brother, both reaching the final after forming a close, tactile bond.
Having since forged a romantic relationship, things have been going swimmingly for the lovebirds, who frequently give fans an intimate insight via soppy social media posts.
Prior to dating Chris, JoJo had been in a relationship with Australian musician Kath Ebbs, from whom she split while at the CBB wrap party.
Things turned pretty sour between them amid the fallout, with 27-year-old Kath claiming JoJo ‘humiliated’ them, while she maintains that she didn’t intend for matters to escalate in such a way.
JoJo also previously identified as a lesbian, but admitted to drag queen Danny Beard during Celeb Big Brother that the label ‘queer’ felt more fitting.

Now, having got used to her life post-CBB, JoJo has doubled down on her earlier comments, with E! News quizzing her during Pride Month.
‘I think the most beautiful term now is queer,’ JoJo told Francesca Amiker.
She continued: ‘I think queer is an umbrella of, “Look, I’m just me.”
‘And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love is love. And that goes both ways.’
The Karma hitmaker added: ‘There’s loads of beautiful, different sexualities. Sexuality and queerness is a lovely rainbow that has all different places, and it also has places on this rainbow that we don’t even know exist yet.’
Making it more than clear how she feels about boyfriend Chris, JoJo declared that she ‘feels so in the right position for [herself].’
‘I feel so content with my happiness,’ said the singer. I feel so relaxed and at ease with where I’m at. I feel so happy and peaceful that the love that I feel is so real.’
‘You can’t really help who you fall in love with,’ she stated.
JoJo went on to praise Chris for teaching her that ‘there’s no right or wrong way to be you’, having ‘never second-guessed’ her feelings for him.
‘When I think about him, I’m full of pure joy.’
And there could be more positive news on the horizon for fans of the new couple, as reports claim they’re set to get even more screentime beyond the walls of the CBB house.
As printed by The Sun, JoJo and Chris – dubbed ‘CoJo’ by fans – could be getting their own fly-on-the-wall series… which may even have global reach.
A source said that while it’s ‘still in the early stages,’ ITV thinks it would be ‘amazing’ to have JoJo and Chris front their own reality programme.
‘Fans around the world are obsessed with their relationship, and there are so many TikTok accounts devoted to their love story.’
Neither party has made a formal commitment just yet, but with both ‘keen’ to take things further, talks are looking ‘promising’.
‘ITV are eyeing up the show to air on ITV2, hopefully later this year once everything is signed on the dotted line.’
Details of what the show will entail exactly are yet to be revealed, but it seems there’s every chance of some cameos from loved ones.
Appearing on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch last week, JoJo said that her mother ‘adores’ Chris.
‘My parents think the absolute world of him, and him and my dad are like best friends,’ she shared sweetly.
‘Chris was actually telling me that yesterday they went to the spa together. They’re literally best friends.
‘Mum, she absolutely adores him. I love watching her watch us because I’ve never seen my mum so happy.
‘It feels like we’re a family. It feels like he’s been in my family for however many years. It feels like they just all get along as well as I do.’
JoJo and her fam live in the US, while Chris is over in the UK.
Determined to make long-distance work, they’re already flying back and forth to spend several days with one another at a time.
Unfortunately, this also results in emotional goodbyes, with JoJo admitting this week that plenty of tears were shed when she left England for home once more.

TVExactly 10 years ago, Channel 4 released one of the best tech dystopian series of the decade – and no, it’s not Black Mirror.
The star-studded 2015 series – featuring Gemma Chan, Colin Morgan and Katherine Parkinson – was set in a parallel near-future universe in which human-shaped robots (known as synths) are part of society.
The synths’ introduction into workplaces, the home, and the seedy underbelly of the cities has transformed the world as we know it.
From having human-like robot slaves cleaning our characters’ homes to using their bodies as sex dolls to replacing humans with their synth counterparts in the workplace, the three-season show was unafraid to explore the darker side of human-robot relations.
Based on a Swedish drama, the show follows the Hawkins family, who are caught up in a technological web far larger than they ever imagined when they bring synth Mia (Gemma) home, who has depths far deeper than meets the eye.
The Bafta-nominated series written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley wowed critics and audiences at the time of its release as well, securing an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes for its stellar acting, strong scripts and eerie finger on the pulse.
At the time, Empire Magazine called it ‘one of the freshest British dramas in years’ and Digital Spy dubbed it a ‘smart, deftly realised science-fiction with real heart.’
New York Magazine said it was ‘an impressively fleshed-out show, joining the ranks of other robo-oriented substantive dramas’ and the LA Times lauded it for its ‘surprisingly nuanced look’ at the dangers of artificial intelligence.
As laid out by those who watched it, what set Humans apart from the growing genre of sci-fi dystopia was its unapologetic look at the messy morality behind the curtain, and accepting that there was no easy answer.
When I find myself looking down the barrel of technologically induced existential doom and looking to indulge, my hand often goes for the TV remote.
As a sci-fi nerd and dystopia lover, I have long loved shows like Black Mirror and Orphan Black, but time and time again, I find myself revisiting Humans on Channel 4.
Not only does this brilliant cast put on a compelling performance, but the storyline still feels like it could happen at any moment, even 10 years after it first aired.
Nowadays, artificial intelligence has become a big part of our everyday lives, from ChatGPT to Character AI to AI-rendered pornography.
So the questions raised by Humans around the abuse of women and capturing human consciousness in technology have never felt more relevant.
Especially considering our growing co-dependency on technology, in many ways, it feels we are already living out the events of the show.
Beyond its pertinent themes, it makes for gritty and grounded television with the human and robot relationships forming the beating heart of the show.
Meanwhile, the speculative nature of the show means it goes in weird and wacky places that might not be the most realistic but are certainly fascinating to watch unfold.
It is one of the rare times I have found myself rooting for the robots – not an easy feat.
Although I think it did lose its way by season three, the first two seasons stand up as vibrant additions to the British sci-fi genre.
One fan, RT user Pat K called it an ‘uncomfortable watch’ and Jared M shared they were ‘looking for a new psychological deep sci-fi show that would make me think, and here it is.’
Although some of the story arcs, themes or plots may seem outdated, the crux of the show holds up thanks to this layered approach.
The first two seasons hold water with water-tight characters and motivations even if, as some fans have pointed out, it does lose steam by the final season with shakier plotlines.
Speaking of the ethos behind the show in 2015, the co-creators told Den of Geek there is ‘a strain of resistance to sci-fi in British TV commissioning’.
They added: ‘But people who are nervous of the term usually actually mean “space opera” rather than “sci-fi”.
‘We’re more the speculative science fiction of ideas, the kind that doesn’t go to other galaxies but puts the scary, weird idea right in your living room.’
And that they do.
For those who haven’t watched it Humans is available to stream on Channel 4 now.

FilmThe 2022 horror hit Barbarian is now streaming on Netflix – three years after taking audiences by storm with its selection of twists and scares.
Directed by Zach Cregger, Barbarian follows Tess (Black Mirror star Georgina Campbell) as she comes to learn that there’s something seriously grim lurking in the depths of her Airbnb (almost an anagram of ‘Barbarian,’ geddit?)
Arriving to find the place already occupied by a man named Keith (a scary-enough-as-it-is Bill Skarsgård), unsettled Tess’s stay goes from bad to worse when they decide to investigate the things going bump in the basement.
Premiering at the London horror film festival FrightFest three years ago to an air of mystery and dread (attendees were implored to keep its twists a secret), Barbarian went on to impress critics and audiences alike.
Achieving a 90% ‘Fresh’ rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film topped many best-of lists as the year ended and propelled its British leading lady into Scream Queendom.

With Zach’s follow-up feature imminent, Barbarian has been added to Netflix for home viewers to discover its scares afresh.
‘SATURDAY!! Barbarian on #Netflix this film is brilliant 8/10 so many twists in this film it’s unreal,’ wrote X user Jdubzv10 as they celebrated its re-release.
‘Barbarian on Netflix is a crazy movie,’ wrote J__sutherland.
‘Glad Barbarian is on Netflix. This film is crazy, y’all got to watch it if you haven’t,’ recommended lakeemahmad.
‘I’m not a big horror fan, but Barbarian was a smart horror film that scared the hell out of me. Excited to see the directors follow up,’ agreed Castellani2014.
‘Barbarian is such a wild ride—tense, unpredictable, and totally unique. That moment when the story flips and you’re just left thinking, “Wait… what is happening?!” 👀🍿 Absolute horror gold,’ said dariopapich.
Upon its release, critics heaped praise on Barbarian’s gothic chills, with Metro’s Larushka Ivan-Zadeh describing it as ‘the ultimate horror house movie.’
Meanwhile, The Observer called it ‘one of the most bracingly effective chillers of the year.’
‘One of the most brilliantly executed, sharply incisive and wildly scary horror films of the year,’ said Tribune News Service.
SciFi Now described it as ‘a twisty tale of urban and domestic degeneration,’ while also highlighting the film as a reminder of ‘perverse patriarchy’s horrific legacy.’
Following its release, star Georgina went on to appear in horror films Lovely, Dark and Deep, Bird Box: Barcelona and the sci-fi chiller T.I.M.
And with four more genre films on her docket, the actress shows no sign of slowing her descent into the darker side of cinema anytime soon.
As for the film’s director, he followed Barbarian up by producing the twisted romance Companion, which starred Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid.

This August also sees the release of Zach’s second film as director, with the creepy new horror film Weapons.
Starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin, it follows a teacher who is horrified to discover that all 17 of her students have suddenly disappeared the night before.
Its nightmare-inducing trailer then reveals a series of increasingly horrifying images – including a creepy child rising from their desk in a dark classroom, someone being run down by a car, and hands covering a man’s face while holding him down.
‘This is where the story really starts,’ a child’s voice intones as a door opens by itself.
Barbarian is streaming on Netflix now.

TVFormer Skins star Ollie Barbieri has shed the thick curls he was once known for – and is looking unrecognisable 12 years after the show ended.
Ollie, 33, played Jonah Jeremiah Jones – aka JJ – in series 3 and 4 of the raucous teenage drama.
During his run on the show, the character found himself in a love triangle between Effy (Kaya Scodelario), Cook (Jack O’Connell) and Freddie (Luke Pasqualino).
In the end, JJ settled down with girlfriend Lara (Georgia Henshaw) and her baby from a previous relationship.
JJ bowed out in 2010, while the show lasted three more series before coming to an end with series 7 in 2013.
Ollie joined Kaya and other members of the cast as they reunited for the birthday of twins Kathryn and Megan Prescott, who played Katie and Emily Fitch.
Posting a series of snaps from their birthday, actress and OnlyFans model Megan shared an image of herself and sister Kathryn as they posed with co-stars Klariza Clayton, Kaya and Ollie.
‘Happy birthday Meg & Kat… the last time we were together we were all a lil bit younger, little bit dumber & hadn’t had the pleasure of waking up with sore knees… love you all xx Y2K 4 EVA,’ wrote Kaya as she also shared the image to her Instagram account.
‘This is such a nice photo but I must implore you to edit the caption kaya 🤣 (or have I just been on O.F. so long that I read the sore knees thing as something entirely different…🤦♀️😂) xx’ joked Megan in the comments below.
Boasting a tight haircut, designer stubble and fashionable spectacles, the all-grown-up Ollie looked a world away from shy, nerdy JJ.
Followers were shocked to see Ollie’s new look, with AkonKitty commenting: ‘Happy Birthday and happy to see Skins family!!! Is that JJ on the left?’
‘In the end JJ won,’ joked j0estrodamus.
Meanwhile, others were cheered to see the cast reunite after all these years.
‘This heals my inner teenage self seeing you all grown together 😭❤️’ said conniekaraitiana.
‘the fact you guys are still friends all of these years later 🥺🥹’ said hotbriochedameron.
‘Happy birthday to you both 🙂 so awesome to see so many of you still in contact ❤️’ commented dan_runner_7.
‘Aww, a little skins reunion for a special day. 🥺 I cannot word how much I adore those friendships <3’ said proud.scodder.
Following Skins, Ollie went on to appear in the urban drama spoof Anuvahood, where he played a character named Enrique.
In 2017, he reunited with fellow Skins alumnus Klariza – who played Freddie’s sister, Karen.
Starring in the thriller Blood Money, Ollie and Klariza marked their reunion by posing for a selfie together as they shared transport on the way to set.
‘Reunited with @klarizaclayton Yeah we’re getting a ferry to set,’ he wrote in the accompanying caption.
These days, the actor lives in London with his girlfriend, journalist and Huffpost editor Dayna McAlpone.
Other members of the cast have gone on to achieve varying levels of success since graduating from Skins.
Along with 33-year-old Kaya, breakout stars Nicholas Hoult, Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya have all gone on to become giants in the world of Hollywood.
Last year, Kaya revealed how she ‘pushed back’ against sex scenes in the spin-off series Skins: Fire.
‘I felt much more confident in saying what I felt during that series,’ she told The Guardian.
‘When the first draft came through, there were a lot of sex scenes in it, and I could tell it was because I turned 18, and that meant that they could show more. And I went back and said: “No, there’s no need to do that”.’
Reflecting on her time in Skins, she said: ‘Nothing too awful ever happened [on the set of Skins], thank God, but it could have, and I think that’s what’s scary about it. What’s wonderful now is that every production is aware that a sex scene is essentially a stunt, and it should be choreographed.
‘[We] were so grateful and happy to be there that we did as we were told most of the time. But this was a show that was created by older grown-ups, and it would have been cool to have more conversations as actors about what we were doing.
She continued: ‘[We] were treated like teenagers that were there to make a teenage show. It was nice that we felt free and didn’t understand the politics of the business – we weren’t worrying about whose face was going to be on the poster or who was earning more than who. But at the same time, it’s important to treat actors like actors.’

TVA former Love Island star has been jailed for 14 years after assisting with a major international drug smuggling operation.
Magdalena Sadlo appeared on the Polish version of ITV’s dating show in 2021.
The contestant was nicknamed Barbie, living in London at the time and describing herself to viewers as a ‘spontaneous, self-confident blonde who you can count on’.
Last July, she appeared at the Carlisle crown court, pleading guilty to conspiring to supply class A drug cocaine between March 2022 and May 2023.
The operation was known as one of the UK’s largest ever drug busts, with 30-year-old Sadlo originally detained by police last February after jetting into Heathrow from Dubai as part of an investigation codenamed Operation Matrix.

At the time, she was flying first class with Emirates, sporting several flashy accessories purchased with profits from her crimes, including a £130,000 rose gold Patek Phillipe watch, a £30,000 Rolex, and Cartier jewellery.
Sadlo had been brought in as the ring’s financial director, aiding with the transportation of hundreds of kilos of cocaine across the world and documenting transactions worth millions via spreadsheets.
Additionally, she managed encrypted communications with senior cartel members and kept track of stock levels and expenses, as WhatsApp chats exposed.
She was working in hospitality in the Middle East, all while an ‘eye-opening’ amount of drugs made their way to UK streets.
As well as cocaine, she helped to organise shipments of ketamine and cannabis to Holland and then to Britain.
Explaining how significant her role was in the enterprise, prosecutor Tim Evans said the cartel could not have operated so effectively without her ‘efficiency’.
He said: ‘She not only manages the profits, costs, and expenses but also manages the stock levels.
‘She updates who has taken what, at what cost, from what batch, and the profit margins involved.
‘She is very much part of the inner circle… and is operating and seated at the very highest of tables.’
He added: ‘She clearly knew the scale and seriousness of the trade she was engaging in.
‘No organised crime group working at this level could operate or function without Magdalena Sadlo, or an equivalent, performing this role.’
Sadlo was also said to have been ‘enthusiastic’ and ‘relentless’ in her accounting, chastising other members when they did not meet her standards.
In contrast, her defence barrister, Peter Corrigan, argued that Sadlo played a lesser role than had been portrayed.
Sadlo also penned a letter expressing remorse for her actions, saying she had fallen on hard times.
The court heard positive character references from her family and friends.
Meanwhile, when over in the UK, Sadlo operated as a drug courier and collected cocaine when it was imported in Essex.
In total, it is thought to have been a £53million ‘Amazon-style drug dealing’ operation.
A further 12 men have been sentenced for their roles, with their stretches behind bars totalling more than 100 years.
Judge Nicholas Barker likened the activity to ‘unrolling a ball of wool around the world’.
Furthermore, Detective Superintendent Zoe Russo, of the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), said: ‘Operation Matrix has resulted in the conviction of 13 individuals and prison sentences totalling over 140 years.
‘These convictions strike a significant blow to the supply of drugs across the Northwest and the UK as we continue to remove top-end controllers of international drug supply.
‘Magdalena Sadlo’s arrest and conviction highlight the reach and complexity of this operation. She played a key role in managing international drug supply and laundering criminal profits and will now face the consequences of her actions behind bars.
‘We hope this investigation sends a clear message that whatever your role is in drug trafficking, we will find you, investigate you, and bring you to justice.
‘We are committed to ridding the streets of drugs, robustly dealing with high-harm offenders to reduce crime and restore trust and confidence in communities across the Northwest.’

TVMade in Chelsea star Alex Mytton has paid tribute to two close friends he fears have been killed in the Air India plane crash.
London-based couple Fiongal and Jamie Greenlaw-Meek are among those believed to have been killed in this week’s tragedy.
Crashing shortly after takeoff, the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner smashed into a medical college in Ahmedabad in the west of India on Thursday.
Of its 242 passengers on board, there is believed to be only one survivor, British man Ajay Kumar Vishwash, who walked away with minor injuries after jumping from the flaming jet.
In the wake of the incident, TV star Alex, 33, posted an emotional message to his Instagram Stories in which he spoke of pals Fiongal, 39, and Jamie, 45, who had been travelling in India before the crash.
The wellness gurus previously attended retreats hosted by Alex, with Fiongal also appearing on This Morning in January to talk about wellness.
In a post to Instagram, Alex wrote: ‘A bit lost for words and feeling a tad emotionally exhausted, so I just want to write a short message so as to get the message out.
‘Our lovely friends Fiongal & Jamie were very sadly killed yesterday in the plane crash in India.’
Tagging in girlfriend Helen Wood, Alex continued: ‘There’s a lot more I want to say about them, as they were very close to @Hannah_woood & I’s heart but right now I just wanted to say that if anybody wants to meet up tomorrow if they’re feeling heavy, sad or just wanna hang out with some other humans I’m gonna be organising a little meet up & hug in the park or along the lines (sorry not making loads of sense atm).
‘It feels like there’s a lot of sadness and pain at the moment and just wanted to do something as a vigil to our friends but also for everything else going on at the moment.
‘So please if you’re feeling down or even just up for hanging out or just saying hey, it’ll be a bunch of us just chatting and chilling in the park.’
At the start of Friday’s episode, This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary also paid tribute to the couple.
Referencing Fiongala’s appearances on the show, Dermot said: ‘We loved his energy that he brought to the studio.’
He went on to explain how Fiongal was on board the plane with husband Jamie, finishing: ‘Our thoughts and our prayers go to their loved ones and all those affected by this terrible tragedy.’
Former This Morning producer Martin Frizell shared his own message of condolence, posting a picture of Fiongal with then-hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
‘So so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick,’ Martin wrote.
‘I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I’m a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over.
‘And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his Wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him. Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.’
Prior to boarding the plane home to London, Fiongal and Jamie posted a video from the airport gate to the Wellness Foundry on Instagram.
‘We are at the airport, just boarding. Goodbye India,’ Fiongal said.
‘My biggest takeaway is to not lose your patience with your partner. We’re going back happily, happily, happily calm.’

TVThere have been plenty of TV moments that critics and viewers have declared ‘crossed a line’.
I’m thinking of shocking moments like when Spike assaulted Buffy, the time Negan introduced Glenn to Lucille, or Black Mirror’s very first episode (if you know, you know).
Yet arguably the best TV series of the 2010s made a name for itself in doing things that other TV shows would never dare to do.
I’m writing, of course, about Game of Thrones, a show where heroes were slaughtered, villains triumphed, and the good trampled under the boot of tyranny.
From its very first episode, which ended with the attempted murder of a child who’d witnessed incest, Game of Thrones was deliberately transgressive.
Yet despite its reputation for pushing boundaries, it took until season five for critics to claim the series had ‘crossed a line’.
Ten years ago today, the season five finale, Mother’s Mercy, aired, during which Jon Snow was betrayed by his brothers, Daenerys was captured by the Dothraki, and Myrcella was murdered.
However, it wasn’t those stories that shocked fans and critics alike; it was Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) penance walk.
This scene saw the former queen of Westeros walk through the streets of King’s Landing naked while the common folk pelted her with rotten food.
When you read those words, it may sound a bit tame – especially considering the moment has evolved into the ‘shame’ meme – but it genuinely was horrible to see Cersei, a character who’d always seemed so in control, robbed of her dignity and pride.
The scene was criticised at the time for being gratuitously cruel, overly long, and a lazy attempt to drum up sympathy for a widely despised character.
In their article for EW, Melissa Maerz – titled ‘Cersei’s walk of shame: Too much on Game of Thrones?’ – wrote that what bothered her was how ‘sexual violence and humiliation have become TV’s laziest trick for getting viewers to sympathise with cold female characters.’
She went on to say, ‘There are more creative ways to create empathy for Cersei without resorting to sexual humiliation’.
The walk, however, did inspire a lot of sympathy for Cersei.
A quick scroll through the comments under the clip on YouTube will show lots of fans saying how they hated Cersei, but that this scene had made them feel sorry for her.
Here’s the thing, though, I think Cersei’s penance walk was just the final bow from a season that taught the Game of Thrones creators the wrong lesson.
You see, season five generated a lot of controversy. Beyond Cersei’s walk there was the brutal murder of Shireen and Sansa Stark’s rape all of which shocked viewers and got the series a lot of publicity.
After this season, I think Game of Thrones – in the absence of books to adapt – became addicted to shock and scandal.
That’s why we got moments that seemed spectacular in the moment – I’m thinking specifically about Cersei blowing up the Sept of Baelor – but don’t make much sense when you stop and think about it (why would anyone follow Cersei after this?).
This wasn’t a huge problem in season six, but as we moved into seasons seven and eight, characters seemed to keep losing IQ points between episodes, acting in stranger and more ridiculous ways.
Our Deputy TV Editor Tom Percival shares where Game of Thrones went wrong…
Game of Thrones fell off in a big way in its last two seasons, and there are a couple of reasons why.
As we’ve addressed in this piece, the series got in a sort of arms race with itself, with each season trying to up the spectacle and surprises at the expense of its characters and the story it was trying to tell.
It’s also undeniable that the series lost its way a little when it ran out of books to adapt, leaving the writers with only a vague idea of where George R.R. Martin planned on taking the books.
Finally, and I think this is probably the biggest problem, everyone working on it was exhausted after a decade of making the show. I think this led to them rushing the final season and caused the massive pacing issues (especially around Daenerys’ turn to the dark side).
It was clear the show had become more and more dependent on scandal and shock as the quality of the writing waned.
This all culminated, of course, with the much-maligned season eight finale, where Jon Snow killed Daenerys after she went mad and torched King’s Landing.
This ending, while undeniably surprising, was widely criticised as rushed and poorly executed.
And you know what put the show on the road to ruin? I think it was Cersei’s first few steps of her penance walk.
All eight seasons of Game of Thrones are available to stream now on NOW.

GamingA reader breaks down the Switch 2 launch line-up and lists the mistakes he feels Nintendo has made, from the marketing to the prices.
I’m not sure if anyone seriously thought the Nintendo Switch 2 would be a failure but to the absolute shock of no one sensible it hasn’t been. It’s the fastest-selling console ever, according to what I’ve read, and I’m sure that it will go on to have a very long life and plenty of great games.
I have one and a copy of Mario Kart World, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot, but despite what I imagined at the start of the year – and I think a lot of people were like this – Nintendo’s roll out of the console hasn’t been as slick as I expected.
I feel they have made a number of strange mistakes and just generally were too secretive and unclear about things for no reason that can have helped them. Since the console is selling anyway maybe they’ll think they made the right decisions. I guess I should just assume they know better, because what do I know, but here’s what I think they got wrong.
I’m not going to come out and say Mario Kart World isn’t worth £75, but then I don’t really know because I only paid £35 for it, as part of the hardware bundle. And even if I had bought it separately, I would’ve bought it digitally, which is considerably cheaper. So why did Nintendo let the games being expensive become the story? Mario Kart is the only one that’s that much and yet people are still running around saying it’s £80. The launch report on the BBC news was all about how expensive it was, and I feel Nintendo just let all the bad press happen. If digital downloads are the majority now, why wasn’t that figure the one that was being promoted, and the physical one was just an optional extra?

This is a more minor thing but I feel the hype of new reviews is all part of the fun of a new console launch, but we didn’t get anything on launch day, just more previews and then a slow trickle over the coming days, that were obviously rushed or just ignored the smaller games entirely. Again, I don’t feel that was a good look for Nintendo and because Mario Kart’s reviews weren’t completely ecstatic there’s always going to be the question of whether they were purposefully trying to delay them until the last minute, which is not something I previously would’ve thought Nintendo would do.
As a continuation of this, I don’t think anyone would disagree that the way Mario Kart World uses its open world is weird, especially when it comes to the mostly empty Free Roam. It doesn’t spoil the game, but it does remove the one thing that would’ve made the game a 10/10 all-timer and you really wouldn’t have thought Nintendo would miss a trick like that. Also, it’s kind of the fault of the marketing for hyping it up. If they’d barely mention the open world people wouldn’t have been expecting anything, so I do think the marketing for the Switch 2 as a whole has had problem.
It’s only slowly come into focus just how bad the launch line-up is for the Switch 2. Not in terms of quality but the almost complete lack of exclusives. Just one proper one for Nintendo, only one kind-of full price one from third parties and everything else is just ports of sometimes multiple years old games. It feels rushed, for what must be the least rushed console ever, in terms of the time Nintendo had to plan for it and launching it in the middle of June – for still no reason that I can understand.
This is linked to the previous point, but the future is also looking strangely bleak at the moment. I’m sure it’s not overall but Nintendo has done very little to make it seem exciting. Hyrule Warriors 3 and Kirby Air Riders must be the two least wanted Nintendo sequels ever, then you’ve got that cheap looking basketball game, and then a Splatoon spin-off, and The Duskbloods from FromSoftware. And even that’s multiplayer, so it’s not as exciting as it first seemed. A new Zelda could be half a decade away at this point and we’ve got absolutely no idea about a new 3D Mario.
